Meet Kathryn "Kat" Londry

Kathryn “Kat” Londry, affectionately known as Super Kat and Mama Kat, is a powerful storyteller, tireless youth advocate, and devoted community nurturer. Her life’s path has been carved by resilience, guided by purpose, and rooted in an unwavering commitment to service.

Born in Los Angeles and adopted into a life that moved her through Washington, D.C., Racine, Chicago, and Phoenix, Kat’s early years were shaped by profound adversity. Yet through the strength of her Villages and the wisdom of her Elders, she embraced two transformative truths: she was born to rise above her circumstances, and education would be her way forward.

That fierce, nomadic spirit eventually led Kat to Clark Atlanta University, where she arrived as a single mother and created her own Village. After her first year of school, her third Blessing was on the way. There, she came under the mentorship of the late Dr. Thomas W. Cole, Jr., founding President of CAU, whose words became a compass in her life: “Kat, you can have as many babies as you want, they are a Blessing from God…You can dance with trouble all you want…but you will graduate from this University with pride, with integrity, and with a commitment to serve others.”

While at Clark Atlanta University, Kat created and hosted Sports View with Super Kat, a weekly sports talk show that showcased both local and national athletes. A career highlight came at Super Bowl XXXIII, where she covered Magic Johnson’s Magic Bowl in Miami. Though accepted into graduate school at Howard University to continue her broadcasting path, she chose to prioritize motherhood and remained in Atlanta. Kat later moved back to the DMV area in 2012, then returned to Atlanta in 2021, where she is now re-rooted, and with an expansive Village.

Over time, another powerful identity emerged: Mama Kat. As a mentor, mother figure, and advocate, she became a trusted presence in the lives of countless young people, known for her candid wisdom, unwavering love, and no-nonsense compassion.

Whether she’s known as Super Kat, Mama Kat, or simply Kat, her life and work remain grounded in what she calls her Seven Gems of Purpose:

  1. Honor the Most High

  2. Keep the Faith

  3. Stay Humble

  4. Exude Integrity

  5. Be Kind

  6. Give Generously

  7. Empower Others

Welcome to the Village.
